Operation Safe Driver Week: Police to Target High-Risk Driving July 12–18

From July 12–18, law enforcement agencies across North America will monitor commercial motor vehicles and passenger cars for high-risk behaviors including speeding, distracted driving, following too closely, improper lane changes, failure to use seat belts, impaired or fatigued driving, and failure to obey traffic control devices. Drivers found operating unsafely may receive a warning or a citation/ticket. The effort is part of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s year‑round Operation Safe Driver Program, which seeks to prevent crashes through driver education, enforcement strategies and industry outreach.
