Owner of Irwin pool company charged in home improvement fraud cases
Pennsylvania State Police say the owner of Nichols Pools accepted deposits and directed $20,000 in materials purchases but did not finish contracted pool work in Hempfield Township.
Pennsylvania State Police filed three criminal cases against 45-year-old Nolan Nichols, owner of Nichols Pools, accusing him of taking payments to renovate or build swimming pools and failing to complete the work. In a Hempfield Township case, Nichols was hired in April for a project originally priced at $31,500 that increased to $37,300; the homeowner says she paid $9,000 in deposits and spent $20,000 on materials at his direction, but Nichols allegedly never returned, failed to deliver a paid custom pool liner and abandoned the project, leaving it unusable. He faces similar charges in two other cases from March and June; all charges are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
