Pa. House approves optional digital driver’s licenses; physical ID still required at stops
Bills passed with bipartisan support would let Pennsylvanians carry digital licenses and registration cards on phones, while keeping physical IDs in circulation and required for traffic stops.
The Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed two bills this week with bipartisan support to allow residents to carry digital versions of their driver’s licenses and vehicle registration cards on smartphones, lawmakers said in a news release.
