Pa. Legislature fast-tracks three data center bills
Three bills to regulate growing data center development passed House committees and head to the floor amid bipartisan calls for stronger oversight.
Three bills aimed at regulating data center development passed out of state House committees Wednesday, reflecting bipartisan concerns about the need for oversight and setting the stage for debates over how best to implement it.
The bills — which include a measure establishing Gov. Josh Shapiro’s new data center infrastructure standards — are headed to the House floor in the thick of budget season and at a time when some bipartisan lawmakers have called for stronger regulations than the governor has outlined.
