Pa. Turnpike tests real-time traffic warning system on Northeast Extension
A movable system that alerts drivers to stopped or slow traffic is being piloted during overnight roadwork and can be adjusted to current traffic conditions.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is testing a new technology designed to give drivers advance notice of stopped or slow-moving traffic ahead, with the pilot program launching during overnight construction work on the Northeast Extension, the commission said in a news release.
