Murrysville police say Patricia Lucas, 68, is charged with cashing 46 checks from a stolen checkbook between July 8 and Aug. 10, totaling $43,780. The victim reported the missing checkbook in mid‑August and said Lucas, who had recently helped with a move, told the victim she would repay the money. Lucas faces a charge of theft by unlawful taking; criminal charges are accusations and she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
