Pike County DA Donates $5,000 to Support Domestic Violence Survivors
Donation supports services, resources and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence in Pike and Wayne Counties.
The Pike County District Attorney’s Office donated $5,000 to the Victims Intervention Program of Pike and Wayne Counties to support services, resources and advocacy during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The funds come from a fee under the Pennsylvania Crime Victims Act (not taxpayer funds); DA Raymond Tonkin said the gift underscores the office’s commitment to survivors. The notice cites CDC data that more than 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men have experienced intimate-partner sexual or physical violence or stalking; for help call Victims Intervention Program at 570-296-4357 or their 24-hour hotline at 570-253-4401.
