Police Booth a Hit at Nether Providence Family Fun Day
NPPD officers handed out toys, showed vehicles and connected with residents at the annual Family Fun Day at Strath Haven Middle School.
The Nether Providence Police Department was a main attraction at the township’s annual Family Fun Day in the Strath Haven Middle School upper parking lot, where officers greeted families and handed out fidget toys, bubble wands, temporary tattoos, police hats and candy. Chief David Splain, Sgt. Matt Liss, Detectives James Irey and Steve Kilian, Traffic Safety Officer Kevin Smith and Officer James Williams (with Sgt. Michael Worrell on duty) mingled with residents beside marked cruisers and an off‑road Polaris as people enjoyed food, games, pony rides and vendors. Chief Splain said, “Family Fun Day is a wonderful example of the community spirit that makes Nether Providence special,” noting the event helps build trust between officers and residents.
