Police: Loud Explicit Music Used to Deter Home Buyers
State police say surveillance and texts indicate a neighbor intentionally blasted explicit, loud music during home showings and threatened to prevent the sale.
Pennsylvania State Police at Dublin say a recent harassment complaint they investigated in Springfield Township, Bucks County, was found to be related to a resident’s attempt to sabotage a neighbor’s home showings.
In a news release, they said a 70-year-old Hellertown man “reported that his neighbor had continuously and maliciously played music containing explicit lyrics at an extremely loud volume while the victim’s realtor was showing the property to potential customers.”
“The realtor also received a text from the suspect that stated she would do whatever it takes for him to not be able to sell the house,” police said.
According to the news release, the property is located on Rt. 212 and the alleged incidents occurred in September.
Police said that on multiple occasions “potential buyers stated that they refused to bid on the property due to the loud music.”
They added that video surveillance “documented…that the loud music was intentionally played during the showing of the residence.”
According to police, “the suspect was provided a warning for the harassment and advised that any future complaints with evidence” would result “in an arrest.”
