Poughkeepsie man indicted on weapons and reckless endangerment charges

Dutchess County DA says a Poughkeepsie man was indicted on two counts of criminal weapons possession and one count of reckless endangerment after an alleged public shooting.

Dutchess County District Attorney Anthony Parisi announced that 23-year-old Michal Herman of Poughkeepsie was indicted by a Dutchess County Grand Jury on two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class C violent felonies) and one count of Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree (a Class D felony). Parisi said the allegations involve firing multiple rounds on a public street, endangering residents and bystanders, and highlighted the county’s participation in the state GIVE initiative and cooperative law enforcement efforts to remove illegal firearms and prosecute violent crime.
