Poughkeepsie man indicted on weapons charges, reckless endangerment after alleged public shooting

Dutchess County District Attorney Anthony Parisi announced that Michal Herman, 23, of Poughkeepsie, was indicted by a grand jury on two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class C violent felonies) and one count of Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree (a Class D felony). The charges allege Herman fired multiple rounds on a public street, endangering residents in the area. Parisi said the case highlights the county’s participation in New York State’s Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) Initiative and its focus on intelligence-driven enforcement to remove illegal firearms and prosecute violent crimes.
