Ray Hamlin Arrested in Clifton on Assault, Domestic Violence and False Imprisonment Charges
Deputies identified and arrested 56-year-old Ray Hamlin after responding to a reported assault in Clifton and finding evidence of injuries from an earlier incident.
On July 16, 2026, at about 7:30 p.m., Mesa County deputies responded to a reported assault on the 600 block of Highland Drive in Clifton and identified the suspect as Ray Hamlin, 56, of Whitewater. Deputies say Hamlin had been asked to leave the property, sparking a verbal confrontation, and that he had allegedly assaulted the victim days earlier, leaving still-visible injuries. Hamlin was located at a residence on the 8500 block of Bean Ranch Road, arrested without incident and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on charges including Domestic violence; Crimes against an at risk persons - 3rd degree assault, Felony 6; Harassment (strike, shove, kick or otherwise touches), Misdemeanor 1; and False Imprisonment, Misdemeanor 2; a mugshot will be released when available.
