Raystown Lake removes most dumpsters; visitors must pack out trash
Most dumpsters at Raystown Lake recreation areas have been removed after rangers found them filled with household garbage. Day visitors must now carry out all their trash.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has removed most dumpsters at Raystown Lake recreation areas, meaning those visiting the area for a day will need to take away all their trash.
The change, which went into effect Wednesday, happened because rangers found its dumpsters were being filled illegally with household garbage rather than park-generated trash, according to Raystown Lake Project Manager Allen Gwinn.
