Reicel Paneque-Gavilan arrested after fleeing into Garden Court apartment during stolen-vehicle search

On July 21, 2026, Lancaster City police located a vehicle reported stolen from the 600 block of Poplar Street near East King and South Ann Street. Officers say 35-year-old Reicel Paneque-Gavilan ran from the vehicle into a Garden Court Apartments unit; two adults were safely evacuated and nearby apartments and streets were briefly closed while officers secured the scene. Paneque-Gavilan left the apartment and was taken into custody without injury; streets reopened and residents returned. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
