On July 9, 2026, two men entered the Marathon gas station on Route 51; one jumped the counter, waved a machete and the clerk handed over a register drawer containing about $116 before they fled in a black vehicle. Investigators determined the same pair had tried to rob a nearby BP earlier that night; surveillance showed distinctive clothing and shoes. On July 20 detectives in Elizabeth Borough identified and contacted Benjamin Probst, who allegedly confessed and now faces charges of robbery, theft, receiving stolen property and simple assault.
