School starts Aug. 24 — Let’s keep our kids safe
With classes beginning Monday, August 24, drivers and students are urged to follow basic precautions around buses, school zones and crosswalks to ensure a safe start to the 2026–27 school year.
Wyomissing Area and Wilson School Districts will welcome students back beginning Monday, August 24 as the 2026–27 school year begins. The Wyomissing Police Department advises drivers to slow down, stop for school buses with red lights flashing and stop arms extended, and watch for walking students; students should use sidewalks and crosswalks, put phones and headphones away when crossing, and make eye contact with drivers. Everyone is asked to allow extra travel time, stay alert in school zones, and look out for one another to keep children safe.
