Some of Pa.’s biggest data center projects won’t have to follow the governor’s new rules
Projects already in the state’s fast-track permitting program were encouraged to adopt the new GRID standards, but will remain on the fast track whether they do or not.
The Shapiro administration has urged developers already enrolled in its fast-track permitting program to use the GRID standards for data centers. Officials say those projects will stay on the fast track regardless of whether they adopt the new standards, meaning some of the state’s largest data center developments won’t be subject to the governor’s new rules.
