The Steelton Borough Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police Troop H conducted a joint traffic enforcement operation on July 1, 2026, targeting locations with frequent speeding complaints and hazardous driving. Officers made 31 traffic stops, issued 25 warnings and 19 citations, and effected 2 warrant arrests and 1 drug arrest; the department says more joint details are planned to address speeding, aggressive and impaired driving. Chief Shawki Lacey credited the regional partnership for enhancing roadway safety and supporting broader crime-reduction efforts.
