Steelton man charged after reporting his own vehicle stolen
Steelton police say surveillance showed Allen Kelly drove and parked the vehicle he reported stolen; he was charged with making a false report and held on a probation violation after officers found he was driving with suspended privileges.
On July 8, 2026, Steelton Borough Police responded to a reported stolen vehicle on the 100 block of South Front Street. Surveillance showed 59-year-old Allen Kelly had driven and parked the vehicle himself, and he admitted doing so; officers charged him with False Reports to Law Enforcement Authorities and cited him for operating the vehicle while his driving privileges were suspended for a DUI-related offense. Kelly was taken into custody for processing and subsequently detained on a probation violation.
