Storm damage shuts several roads in Mechanicsburg

Staff and emergency crews have been working since the storm to clear downed trees. The 200 block of East Main Street, 100 block South Walnut Street, 100 block of West Marble Street and the intersection of West Elmwood and South High Street remain closed; the traffic light at East Simpson Street and Shepherdstown Road is running on a generator and Memorial Park is closed due to multiple downed trees. Motorists are urged to use caution, avoid driving around barricades or through flooded roadways, treat dark signals as four-way stops, and remain patient as crews prioritize and clear affected areas—emergency services remain fully operational.
