On June 24, an officer stopped a vehicle at Ashley Phosphate Road and Cross County Road for defective tag lights; driver 31-year-old John Julius Hudson IV admitted his license was suspended and was arrested for violating the Habitual Offender Act. Officers identified the front-seat passenger as 45-year-old Yendor Yorel Green; an inventory search later recovered a handgun with a black light and laser attachment and 18 rounds in the magazine plus one in the chamber beneath the passenger seat. Green initially left the scene with his mother but was recognized and taken into custody without incident on July 10 during a traffic stop on Peppermill Parkway, charged with felony possession of a firearm and held on outstanding warrants from Berkeley and Dorchester counties.
