Suspect Arrested After Baggs, Wyoming Shooting; Charges Filed in Colorado
Moffat County deputies arrested a 37-year-old after a shooting that left one person injured; investigation continues with Wyoming authorities.
On July 5, 2026, Moffat County deputies arrested 37-year-old Alejandro Rodriguez-Zarraga in connection with a shooting first reported along Colorado Highway 13 near mile marker 115. Deputies say the shooting occurred in Baggs, Wyoming; a firearm was recovered and Rodriguez-Zarraga faces charges of Possession of a Weapon While Under the Influence and Theft of a Firearm (Class 6 Felony). The injured individual was transported to Memorial Regional Health in Craig and the investigation is ongoing in coordination with the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office (Wyoming).
