Swatara Police Win 'Hoagies for Heroes' at Bridge Road Wawa Grand Opening
Officers competed in a hoagie-making contest at the new Wawa on Bridge Road and took home the first-place trophy while celebrating the store’s opening with local first responders.
Sgt. Ashley Baluh, Cpl. Brandon Pokrop, Ofc. Rebecca Hulstine and Ofc. Brandon Ryder quickly assembled hoagies at the grand opening of the Wawa at 9009 Bridge Road in Swatara Township and won the 1st place trophy. Hummelstown Borough firefighter and police friends provided strong competition, and Swatara Fire-Rescue had to leave before competing due to a fire call. The Swatara Township Police Department congratulated Wawa on the new central Pennsylvania store and thanked the company for including first responders in the celebration.
