Tarentum man arrested after multi-county high-speed pursuit

On July 1, 2026, Lower Burrell officers received a license-plate-reader alert and located a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Brian Greenwald in the Denny’s parking lot on Tarentum Bridge Road. Greenwald fled, driving at speeds above 70 mph across Westmoreland and into Tarentum, was stopped when Indiana Township officers deployed stop strips, then ran on foot before being tased and taken into custody; a passenger was not injured. He faces charges including fleeing and eluding, flight to avoid apprehension, evading arrest, reckless endangerment and several summary citations including driving on a suspended license.
