Tax Foundation: States should heed Maryland court ruling on digital ad tax
Maryland Tax Court invalidated the state's digital advertising tax and ordered refunds covering more than five years of collections, a decision the Tax Foundation says other states should watch closely.
The Maryland Tax Court recently struck down the state’s digital advertising tax and ordered refunds to be paid to taxpayers for over five years of collections. The Tax Foundation says the ruling should serve as a warning to other states that have enacted or are considering similar digital ad levies.
