Thai farmers turn to microbes to stop paddy burning
Farmers who once burned crop residue are adopting microbial solutions as an alternative to open-field burning.
Rice farmers Siriporn and Amnat Taidee used to burn their paddy fields between plantings, a common method of clearing crop residue partly blamed for the annual burning crisis. They are now pinning hopes on microbes as an alternative to open-field burning to help address that recurring problem.
