LARISSA, Greece — Thousands of drivers in central Greece continue using a storm-damaged bridge that has visibly buckled over the Pineios River, despite safety concerns and official warnings, because the alternative route adds significant travel time and distance for residents, farmers and commuters, The New York Post reported. Local officials say the damaged crossing remains a critical connection between nearby communities even though it has been considered unsafe since severe flooding struck the region, BGI said.
