Three arrests in Mesa County for drugs, strangulation and tampering
Mesa County deputies arrested three men in Grand Junction/Orchard Mesa on Aug. 25 after separate incidents involving multiple illegal drugs, a strangulation assault and property damage with a suspected impaired-driving investigation.
On Aug. 25, 2026, Mesa County deputies made three separate arrests in the Grand Junction/Orchard Mesa area. At about 11:20 a.m., deputies found Nathan Davidson, 43, on a posted trail south of Rainbow Drive with multiple suspected controlled substances — including pills believed to be Percocet, oxycodone and lurasidone, plus mushrooms, ayahuasca, crack, cocaine and meth — and booked him on felony possession with 3+ priors, unlawful conduct on public property and possession of drug paraphernalia; Davidson is on parole with three prior felony drug convictions. Later arrests included Gene Clark Jr., 59, taken around 6:30 p.m. on charges including second-degree assault by strangulation, criminal mischief ($2,000–$5,000), obstruction, violation of a protection order and a domestic-violence sentence enhancer, and Jesse Esqueda, 30, arrested near Morningside Court on second-degree criminal tampering and a domestic-violence enhancer while Colorado State Patrol investigates suspected impaired driving and a hit-and-run involving Esqueda.
