The Center Square reports Republican U.S. Senate candidate Michael Whatley, who has trailed Democrat Roy Cooper financially, is receiving help from groups aligned with Sen. John Thune. Those groups are directing roughly $500 million through the Senate Leadership Fund to fill a portion of Whatley’s fundraising shortfall in the 2026 contest.
