Tools Recovered After Home Depot Theft in Clifton
Deputies recovered more than $2,500 in stolen, unopened Home Depot tools and arrested a woman with multiple warrants and suspected meth after stopping a vehicle in Clifton.
On Oct. 21, 2026, deputies contacted three adults in a vehicle on 32 Rd. in Clifton and discovered brand-new, unopened tools and packages from a local Home Depot that the store confirmed were stolen that morning. Passenger Kayla Hutton, 27, of Grand Junction—who matched the theft suspect and had eight outstanding warrants—attempted to flee, was found with suspected meth, and was booked on felony theft, multiple misdemeanors and several warrants; Maegan Giles, 45, was booked on a contempt of court warrant. Deputies returned the stolen items to Home Depot, the cooperative driver was released, and Hutton remains jailed on seven $2,500 cash-only bonds ($17,500) while Giles remains in custody with bond not yet set.
