Tornado warning issued for Venango County — take cover now
National Weather Service issued the warning at 4:24 p.m. for Venango County through 5 p.m.; storm capable of producing a tornado located over Franklin moving east at 50 mph.
On Thursday at 4:24 p.m. the National Weather Service released a tornado warning in effect until 5 p.m. for Venango County.
"At 4:24 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Franklin, moving east at 50 mph," states the weather service. "Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely."
