Two Arrested After Violent Neighbor Dispute on Oakmont Court
A property-line dispute in Culpeper escalated into a violent assault; two neighbors were arrested and the victim remains hospitalized.
On July 17, 2026, Culpeper police responded to a fight on the 1100 block of Oakmont Court and arrested Louis Chevalier Sr., 70, and Gail Chevalier, 72, after a property-line dispute turned physical. Investigators say the suspects used a hammer and a leaf blower and that the 73-year-old victim was found unconscious with severe bruising, multiple lacerations and a concussion; detectives reported blood evidence linking the defendants to the scene and say Louis Chevalier admitted gouging the victim's eye.
