Union Pacific Big Boy #4014 to pass through Upper Providence July 2 — expect delays

Upper Providence Township Police warn that Union Pacific Big Boy steam locomotive #4014 will transit the area on Thursday, July 2, causing heavy traffic and possible delays on Bridge Street in Mont Clare and 2nd Avenue in the Mingo/Royersford section between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Residents are asked to obey road closure signs, stay at least 25 feet from all railroad tracks (including when operating drones), and remember that tracks and right-of-way are private property—do not trespass. The department cautions that the locomotive’s steam can cause burns if people stand too close.
