United Airlines flight strikes truck and light pole on NJ Turnpike during Newark landing
A Boeing 767 with 221 passengers and 10 crew struck a tractor-trailer and a light pole on the New Jersey Turnpike around 2 p.m. but landed safely after arriving from Venice, Italy.
A United Airlines flight struck a tractor-trailer and NJ Turnpike light pole while landing at Newark Liberty International Airport on Sunday afternoon before landing safely, officials said.
“While on approach to land at Newark Liberty International Airport, United Airlines Flight 169 struck a light pole on the New Jersey Turnpike around 2 p.m.,” the FAA said in a statement. “The Boeing 767 landed safely and was arriving from Venice, Italy.”
