Upland Police Honor Breast Cancer Survivors and Remember the Lost

Upland Borough Police wear pink ribbons this Breast Cancer Awareness Month to honor survivors, remember those lost and encourage regular screenings and early detection.

Published Oct 6, 2026, 8:26 AM EDT | Northampton Crimewatch

The Upland Borough Police Department stands in solidarity with breast cancer patients, survivors and families, encouraging screenings and early detection. The department shared the story of an officer’s mother — a survivor of thyroid cancer (2023), a 2024 brain aneurysm, and Stage 1A breast cancer diagnosed in March 2026 who completed four rounds of chemotherapy and is undergoing radiation — and remembered Sister Veronica Gavin, R.S.M., who died of breast cancer in 2018. Officers will wear pink ribbons during the month to show support and raise awareness.
