On May 15, 2026, Lower Allen Township police responded to an active retail theft at Walmart, 3400 Hartzdale Dr., where loss prevention reported suspects entering a gray van. Officers stopped the van and identified the occupants as Christopher Staffor Evans, 56, and Caitlyn Wintergrass; both were accused of concealing multiple items in shopping bags and leaving the store without paying. Both were taken to Cumberland County Prison and charged; Evans failed to appear for his preliminary hearing on July 2, 2026, and a warrant (CR-213-2026) was issued for his arrest on retail theft (18) 3929 (A)(1) and possessing instruments of crime (18 907 (A)).
