On Feb. 18, 2026, Lower Allen Township police responded to a dumpster fire on Mallard Court in Mechanicsburg after a witness reported a man with a small dog near the dumpster just before the blaze. Investigation using business reports and video surveillance linked 36-year-old Jason Michael Wivell, who Hampden police arrested after a separate dumpster fire at the Sheetz at 5201 Simpson Ferry Road; the fire caused $2,495.44 in damage and a warrant (CR-397-2026 / LA-26-00917) was issued charging him with (18) 3304 (A)(3) criminal mischief — deception or threat.
