Debra Dora, 60, of West Chester has been charged with Attempted Murder and related counts after Downingtown police say she shot another person and threatened his life on July 19, 2026. Officers responding to the 200 block of Chestnut Street found Dora still in possession of a firearm, took her into custody without further incident, and located a victim with a non–life-threatening gunshot wound. Dora was remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post $750,000 bail; officials described the incident as isolated and praised the swift police response.
