Pennsylvania State Police, working with the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, charged Ryan Thompson of West Newton after a July 16, 2026 collision on Lowber Road in Sewickley Township that resulted in the death of motorcyclist Roy Holliday. Investigators say surveillance video shows a champagne-colored crew cab truck following and striking the motorcycle, cellphone location data placed both men near the scene, and troopers found fresh front-end damage to the pickup at Thompson’s residence. Thompson faces counts including criminal homicide, homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle, reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person; he was denied bail and remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.
