Wildland Fire Near Cedar Mountain Suspected to Be Caused by Fireworks, Contained to 1.5 Acres

At approximately 4:00 a.m., Craig Fire Rescue, the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office Fire Crew and the U.S. Wildland Fire Service responded to a wildland fire off Moffat County Road 7 in the Cedar Mountain area. The fire was quickly contained to about 1.5 acres; initial investigation indicates fireworks likely caused the blaze, which are illegal under current Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.
