Wildlands Conservancy to document elusive small mammals in Lehigh Valley
The Emmaus-based nonprofit received a $38,400 state grant to document elusive species including weasels, flying squirrels and shrews across State Game Lands and preserves.
Animals such as white-tailed deer, black bear and red foxes are common and often spotted inhabitants of the Lehigh Valley. But the region is also home to a number of smaller mammals that residents rarely, if ever, see.
