Wings on Main Sports Bar to Close in Hellertown
The Main Street sports bar known for buffalo wings will shut at 8 p.m. on June 28; customers should redeem gift cards before that date.
A popular Hellertown sports bar and restaurant will permanently close its doors later this month.
Wings on Main Sports Bar and Grille at 605 Main Street will close for good at 8 p.m. June 28, according to a post published on the business’s Facebook page Wednesday.
“Keep an eye open for a new addition to Hellertown at this location,” the post said.
Wings on Main, as its name suggests, is known for a large selection of buffalo wings and other foods popular at most sports bars and pubs.
The restaurant opened in July 2019 in a historic downtown building that was previously home to 1774 Grille & Tap, and before that, to the Original Tavern House; a popular Mexican restaurant that operated in Hellertown under several different names for decades.
Wings on Main is owned by Jay Tulio, whose family also owns Hellertown Crossroads Hotel, another iconic borough eatery on Main Street.
Wednesday’s Facebook post thanked Wings on Main’s customers and friends for their “years of support” for the business.
Reactions to the news from customers on social media generally expressed sadness that the business is closing its doors, with some saying they plan to visit while they still can.
Customers who have Wings on Main gift cards should redeem them by June 28, 2026, the post said.
Downtown Hellertown is home to a number of other restaurants, including Roma Pizza, Taste of Italy, La Maya, La Kang Thai Noodles Bar and Braveheart Highland Pub, which is currently for sale.
