Woman Arrested After Kicking, Biting and Spitting on DeLand Officers

DeLand Police responded to a disturbance on Maple Leaf Lane and attempted multiple times to help a severely intoxicated woman get home, offering a sober ride and other assistance, which she refused. After officers moved to place her on a Marchman Act hold, she kicked three officers, bit one hard enough to break skin and bruise, and spat on others, leading to multiple felony charges. Her mother arrived at the department's Sally Port to try to deescalate and was berated by the woman; police released body camera footage of the incident.
