Last night DeLand Police responded to a disturbance on Maple Leaf Lane and repeatedly tried to help a severely intoxicated woman get home, offering a sober ride and other assistance. After refusing help and escalating, officers placed her on a Marchman Act hold; she then kicked three officers, bit one hard enough to break skin and bruise, and spat on others, leading to multiple felony charges within a minute. When her mother arrived at the department sally port to assist, the woman verbally berated her; body-worn camera footage is available.
