Woman Shot in Leg at Oak Leaf Gardens; Investigation Ongoing
Gunshots were reported outside Oak Leaf Gardens; one woman was struck in the leg and taken to the hospital in stable condition.
On July 15, 2026 at 10:01 p.m., New Castle police responded to reports of gunfire outside Oak Leaf Gardens near 1103 Pin Oak Dr., after a woman inside an apartment was struck in the leg. Officers tended to the victim, who was transported to the hospital and is believed to be in stable condition; investigators secured the scene and the investigation (NCPDO26-0237) is ongoing.
