8,800-pound SpaceX Falcon 9 second stage crashes into the moon
Solar activity and gravity pulled the Falcon 9 second stage, weighing about 8,800 pounds, into a collision course with the moon after more than a year in orbit.
A part of a SpaceX rocket that carried two commercial lunar landers toward the moon in January 2025 crashed into the moon on Wednesday after floating in space for more than one year.
