The Richland Township Police Department is warning residents about fraudulent phone calls in which scammers use spoofing to appear as local police or government employees to obtain money or sensitive information. In a recent incident a caller with a Spanish or Indian accent used the full name of an RTPD employee and a spoofed RTPD number; the department says it will never demand payment or request sensitive personal or financial data and urges residents to hang up and verify calls by contacting RTPD at 814-266-8333 or Cambria County 911 non‑emergency at 814-472-2100.
