Bushkill man faces charges after rented U‑Haul not returned in Tannersville

On July 25, 2026, Pocono Township Police were dispatched after Steele’s ACE Hardware in Tannersville reported a rented U‑Haul cargo van was not returned. Investigators identified 35‑year‑old Jesse I. Koplin‑Hayes of Bushkill as the renter; the vehicle was located with assistance from PSP Lehighton and charges including theft of leased property (Title 18 §3932(a)) and criminal mischief (18 §3304(a)(5)) are pending.
