Christopher Staffor Evans arrested on retail theft warrant
A warrant was served Aug. 3, 2026, for 56-year-old Christopher Staffor Evans after he missed a preliminary hearing in a May retail theft at the Walmart on Hartzdale Drive.
On May 15, 2026, Lower Allen Township police responded to a reported retail theft at Walmart, 3400 Hartzdale Drive, where loss prevention reported suspects entering a gray van. Officers stopped the van and identified occupants Christopher Staffor Evans, 56, and Caitlyn Wintergrass; both were found to have concealed stolen items in shopping bags and were taken to Cumberland County Prison. Evans failed to appear at his July 2, 2026 preliminary hearing, a warrant (Docket CR-213-2026 / LA-26-02471) was issued, and it was served on August 3, 2026; charges include (18) 3929(A)(1) retail theft and 18 907(a) possessing instruments of crime.
