Columbia man charged with simple assault, strangulation and harassment
Columbia man charged following an alleged late-night incident on North Third Street.
On Aug. 27, 2026, at approximately 2:14 a.m., Austin Michael Flowers, 30, of Columbia, was charged after an incident in the 500 block of North Third Street. He faces counts of simple assault, strangulation (applying pressure to the throat or neck), and harassment—subjecting another to physical contact; the Columbia Borough Police Department filed the charges. Flowers is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
